Ezekiel bread is a must for those transitioning to a raw food diet, especially if you ate a lot of bread and grain products before making the decision to go raw.

I picked this loaf up at the Whole Foods, where it was kept in a referidgerated section in order to maintain the sprouted grains.  There are two different flavors of breads - whole grain sprouted and sesame - but there are several types of their breads which include loaves, burger buns and "keiser" rolls.

The bread must be kept cold at all times, so store it in your referidgerator.  Also keep in mind that the bread is cooked - it's not raw - but it's the next best thing to dehydrating and creating your own breads and crackers.  For beginners (like me!), this works wonderfully.

Texture, taste and feel
The bread is dry - this is to be expected from any bread kept in the cold - but moist enough to press around sandwich ingredients or fold in half.

The texture is dry but does  not "crumb up" in your mouth.  You'll want to take small, normal bites of your sandwich with this bread.

Overall, the bread has a heavy, dense feel.  It sits firmly in your stomach, so one sandwich or one slice of bread as a side to your raw soup should be enough to fill you up.

As always, keep combinations in mind when you are starting raw and try to avoid any nut spreads on the bread.  I love mine with Wildflower raw honey, it's such a delicious treat when I'm on the go or in a rush!

*Rawr!* to you!
