Green Lemonade

Ingredients:
This is an incredible recipe for Green Lemonade (green juice). Raw food author Natalia Rose lives by this recipe and promotes it throughout her book, regardless of how raw you are. You can benefit from this juice (and the vitamins it contains) at any stage. Enjoy!
Green Lemonade- 1 head Romain lettuce
- 4-5 stalks green kale
- 2 apples (Natalia recommends Fuji)
- 1 large lemon
- 1-2 inches fresh ginger
Directions:
In a juicer, add all ingredients. I normally begin with the romain lettuce, alternating kale and romain until both are gone. I then cut up and add the core of the romain to help push the green through the juicer. Next, add the ginger and then 1 apple at a time. Finally, finish off with the lemon.
I believe that after flushing all the green out with the apples and then following with the lemon, you help cleanse your juicer and make it easier to wash when finished. It has kept my juicer from becoming stained. The power of lemons!
Variations/Substitutions:
* Substitue any dark green vegetable for the kale if you cannot find it. I usually sub in fresh spinach as an alternative
* If you like less lemon flavor, use a medium lemon. If you only have small lemons, use 1-1/2 or 2 lemons as the fresh citrus flavor really helps balance out the "green"
